Throughout this game you will use 3 keyboard buttons: the left, up, and
You will play 12 rounds of the Undersea Adventure game, as a fish in the ocean.
Goal: Get energy (which turns into lives) by eating algae without getting eaten by predators.
Press the RIGHT arrow key to eat algae. The amount of algae changes over time.
This bar tracks your energy. When it is full you gain an extra ‘life’.
But be careful - there may be a predator in the area! Predators can appear at any time, swim towards you and eat you. There will only be one predator at a time.
Press the UP arrow key to check for the predators. The fish will look in a certain direction. Press the UP arrow again and your fish will turn clockwise and look in the next section and so on until you find a predator. When you know where the predator is the fish will always check there when you press the UP arrow.
The number of areas to check will vary across rounds.
Press the LEFT arrow key to hide in a cave. In the cave you can not be eaten and you can watch the predator reach the centre of the screen, swim away and leave the area.
Press the LEFT arrow key again when you feel safe to come out.
If you do not hide in time, the predator will catch you! Then you will lose 1 Life.
Each round lasts 90 seconds (see red arrow for clock). Energy points roll over across rounds.
In each round the predator will either be a jellyfish (swims SLOWLY towards you) or a shark (FAST).
